What do you do when you lose a tooth?

Congrats to Isabella for answering Blazer's question about the difference between a king and a president! You are so smart! Blazer sends you 5,000 virtual hugs :) (I think Miss Zalenski sends lots too!)

Isabella is right that the people get to vote for president, but not for the king. Which would you prefer?

Today's question: What do you do when you lose a tooth?

Children here in Bahrain have a tradition when they lose their teeth. The pictures below are from the Bahrain National Museum. Read to see what kids here do as tradition!

Blazer wants to know....what do YOU do when you lose a tooth??? Share your answers here!

  1. Hi Blazer! This is Rashed. I have done this before when we lose a milk tooth.
It's an old tradition is that whenever a child loses any of his milk teeth he holds it in his fist with seven date stones, and pointing at the sun he shouts: take this donkey's tooth and give me a gazelle's tooth he then throws the tooth and the stones at the sun.
I did it in Saudi Arabia once
it was kind of weird when you do it the first time.

    Hope you have fun there.
    Love.
    Rashed

    1. Hi Rashed!
I am so excited that you connect to traditions that I am learning about here. How cool! Not very many kids get to visit somewhere so neat and far away like Saudi Arabia. You even got an extra special trip because you lost a tooth! Thanks for sharing your story and keep blogging. It is so fun to hear from fellow Blazers!

      Love,
      Blazer

  3. Hello Mrs. Yearwood & the Yellow Jackets!! So good to hear from you all! I can't wait to tell kids here about your Tooth Fairy and your tooth traditions. It is so fun that you have a friend that has the same tradition as kids in Bahrain! They will be thrilled to hear that! I hope you are having a great first week of school. Miss you all!
