Blazer loves books!

Hey Blazers!

Miss Z and her friend Mohammed had a great time Skyping with the 4th graders last week! Miss Z thinks they have all grown big over the summer and she misses them very much!! :) Mohammed says to tell you hello. He would love to get to see America one day!

I have had a great time in Bahrain. Just the other day I stopped in at the library. I found some neat books. Did you know that in Arabic you read from the right to the left? That is opposite of how you read! Here I am in the Bahrain Children's Library enjoying a book about....ECAPS! Did you get that?
The library here is very nice. I found a book that I know the third graders have read before:
And below is the area that kids can come to hear stories or read with their friends and family.
Reading is important no matter where you live in the world! If you could make a list of books for kids in Bahrain to read, what would you suggest to them? Leave your answers as a comment and I will give your suggestions to teachers in Bahrain!

Do the bookshelves in the picture above look a little empty compared to your library at home? There are lots of places in the world where kids just like you need books to read. Have you ever thought about what to do with your books after you read them? Maybe you could start a fundraiser in your own school or city to send books to kids that need them! Sometimes we take things we have for granted, meaning, we don't take the time to think about how lucky we are. Miss Z and I have seen schools on our trip where kids just like you would cry happy tears just to have a book to take home and keep as their own.

Kids like you can make a huge difference all around the world. If you are feeling motivated, ask your teacher to look at some of the links below to get started!
